C2R A New York Slice “Roni”. Roni is by our stud, George, and out of our show champion female Lily. Born 5/29/24 and has had Embark genetic testing and a great start in life, is AKC registered. As a pup, he went to live with a search and rescue dog trainer and her family in Florida who wanted him for breeding purposes. When his testicle didn’t drop, she made the hard choice to find him just the right new home now.
Roni is a small Beagle male and won’t be an adult until he is three years old – plenty of time to bond, continue his obedience training which he has started, and for him to get attached to you! A fiery personality, Roni has a ton of ball drive and treat drive – would make an awesome performance prospect including agility, barn hunt, scent work, and other activities. He loves children, is not a couch potato – he needs something to do, a big fenced yard to play in and plenty of walks, rides in the car, and time with his owner. He is crate trained and has lived both inside the house and in a kennel.
If you would like a very well-bred, well cared for dog to add to your life, please consider Roni. He currently resides in the pan-handle of Florida. $1,500. Give Morgan a call if you are interested in a well-bred perfect pet! Be persistent in calling Morgan as she is normally out training dogs. 850 -276 -4634
BREEDERS OF MERIT
As American Kennel Club Breeders of Merit, we are upheld to a higher standard of breeding – from being required to do health testing, to participating in AKC events, and adhering to AKC standards and rules. Our Beagles are American Kennel Club registered. When we have a litter of Beagle pups, we register the litter with AKC, and then we pre-register each pup individually, so when you buy a pup from us, we have already paid for the transfer of registration directly to you. The Beagle parents are genetically health tested, and if they carry any genes for Beagle disease, we pair them with a clear partner.
The parent Beagle club, (the National Beagle Club of America) and the Orthopedic Foundation Of America require the following health tests be performed for Beagles – any further genetic testing is not specific to Beagles as they do not present with diseases other than what’s below. You may visit www.ofa.org and look up “C2R” for a listing of our Beagles and which tests have been performed to date.
Genetic Testing Done with Cheek Swabs (this can be done at any age):
Factor 7, (a blood coagulation problem)
MLS (Musladin-Lueke Syndrome, (fibrousis of skin and joints)
Noenatal Cerebellar Cortical Degeneration (affects balance and coordination in young pups)
Tests Performed by a licensed Veterinarian:
Basic Eye Exam (can be done at any age)
Basic Heart Exam (can be done at any age)
Thyroid Testing after the 2nd birthday
Exrays of Hips at 2 years old
Patella (knee) exam at 2 years old
Lafora Epilepsy is optional (a juvenile form of Epilepsy seen in European stock) and can be done at any age.
We try to have all of the health testing completed before our animals are bred, but may from time to time breed earlier depending upon heat cycles and bloodline history. We use the information from the tests to pair breeding individuals and to reduce the health issues that may arise.
EARLY STIMULATION
We subject each litter when first born to Early Neurological Stimulation which is designed to stimulate and grow the neurological system and in turn make healthier, smarter adult dogs that are easier to train.
NUTRITION
We feed both parents and pups quality dry kibble with 10% ground meat that includes muscle/organ/bone, probiotics, added vitamins and other supplements to optimize reproductive and growth health.
VACCINATION
We perform a nomograph on each mother through University of Wisconsin’s CAVIDS labs which provides antibody levels and indicates when vaccinations need to be given to the puppies to ensure immunization is optimal for Parvo and Distemper. We then customize the vaccination schedule for each litter ensuring optimal immunization with less over-vaccination. You will be responsible to continue age-appropriate immunization through vaccines and titer testing with your vet. See the link on this website articles.
WORMING
We administer proper worming medications to both parents and then on the female when she is 45 days pregnant through two weeks after the pups are born with Fenbendazole to keep parasites from transferring to the pups through the mother’s milk. After pups are born, we administer medication every two weeks to help combat parasites found in the environment. At about 12 weeks old, we start each pup on monthly heart worm meds (currently we use Interceptor Plus or HeartGard Plus) which combats heart worm along with 7 other types of common parasites – its important for you to continue monthy heart worm medication.
FLEA & TICK
There are some medications out there we advise against using on Beagles, as they are super sensitive to them and FDA has warnings against using on dogs prone to seizures (all Beagles have the potential to have epileptic seizures and no one knows when it might pop up, there is NO TEST). These inlude all medications that contain Isoxazoline such as Bravecto, Simparica Trio (sarolaner), Nexgard, Credelio, which you feed your dog a pill monthly. Please do not use these on your Beagle. In addition to seizures, when we have had buyers use these products, there is a noticeable difference in the behavior of the pup – they are more anxious and may wine more, possibly drooling more, could be more agitated or aggressive or just plain ornery, and could possibly be more excitable or hyper. These are neurologic issues and this medication brings it out in some dogs. A safer choice is to use Interceptor Plus or Heartgard Plus for monthy heart worm prevention, and then use a separate topical flea and tick medication if your dog is at risk for fleas and ticks (no need to use it at all if your dog isn’t at risk). Topicals include FrontLine, Vectra 3D, and Adams Flea and Tick Spray. Be Your Dog’s Advocate! BYDA!
RESEARCH
We put a great deal of thought and research into each litter, comparing pedigrees and health information on the proposed pairing. We raise healthy, happy pups that are eager to learn and bond with its new owner. The temperaments of both parents is a merry little hound that is pack-oriented and very loyal, eager to please, super smart and funny. These pups will be very easy to acclimate into their new homes and will bond quickly with new owners at any age.
